SEO for jewellery stores in Saudi Arabia: how to win the gold, diamond and bridal searches
What Saudi shoppers type when they buy gold sets, rings and bridal jewellery, the product page details the Ministry of Commerce says an advertisement must state, seven page types a jewellery store needs, and the weeks before Eid al-Fitr when card spending on jewellery peaks.
SEO for a jewellery store in Saudi Arabia means winning the searches shoppers type for gold by item and karat («طقم ذهب», «ذهب عيار 21»), diamonds and bridal pieces («خاتم خطوبة», «دبل الماس»). You win with one strong Arabic page for each, product pages that show type, weight, fineness and price, and season pages live before Ramadan.
This guide is for owners and e-commerce managers of gold and jewellery stores in Saudi Arabia, on Salla, Zid, Shopify, WooCommerce or a custom platform, with or without showrooms. It covers how shoppers search, what the Ministry of Commerce says a jewellery advertisement must state, the pages a store needs, and the weeks when card spending on jewellery peaks. It is not legal advice: confirm the rules with the Ministry and your licence.
The demand is large. Twenty-two Arabic jewellery searches in Saudi Arabia add up to at least 32,710 searches a month, using the lower bound of each Google Keyword Planner range. Gold is the bigger cluster, and diamonds add the bridal searches:
| Search | What it means | Monthly searches in Saudi Arabia (Keyword Planner range) |
|---|---|---|
| مجوهرات | jewellery | 10K to 100K |
| محلات ذهب | gold shops | 10K to 100K |
| ذهب عيار 21 | 21 karat gold | 1K to 10K |
| طقم ذهب | gold set | 1K to 10K |
| خواتم ذهب | gold rings | 1K to 10K |
| اساور ذهب | gold bracelets | 1K to 10K |
| سلسلة ذهب | gold chain | 1K to 10K |
| خاتم الماس | diamond ring | 1K to 10K |
| طقم الماس | diamond set | 1K to 10K |
| دبل الماس | diamond wedding bands | 1K to 10K |
| خاتم سوليتير | solitaire ring | 1K to 10K |
| خاتم خطوبة | engagement ring | 100 to 1K |
Source: Khaleej SEO captures from Google Keyword Planner, location Saudi Arabia, all languages, September 2025 to August 2026: the gold terms on 4 October 2026 and the diamond terms on 5 October 2026. The table shows 12 of the 22 terms. Google shows only ranges for this account, so we add the lower bounds: gold 2 x 10,000 + 6 x 1,000 = 26,000; diamonds 6 x 1,000 + 7 x 100 + 1 x 10 = 6,710; together 32,710 (Khaleej SEO calculation). The upper bounds add up to 327,100. The bare word «ذهب» (100K to 1M) is excluded because it mixes every intent.
Two cautions. First, 10,000 of the gold total is «محلات ذهب», a local search (its suggestions include «قريبة مني» and «مفتوح الآن»), so an online-only store should not count it. Second, these are searches by shoppers, not by readers of this article. In English the same method gives a small cluster of 2,300 (diamond ring and engagement ring at 1K to 10K each, three more terms at 100 to 1K). Arabic comes first; English pages serve expatriates and bilingual buyers.

How Saudi shoppers search for gold and diamonds
Google’s autocomplete suggestions show the patterns. We pulled them for Saudi Arabia on 20 October 2026 and dropped every suggestion that named Egyptian places or other countries, because the pull ran from Egypt. Eight patterns repeat:
| Search pattern | Examples from Google autocomplete (20 Oct 2026) | The page that should answer it |
|---|---|---|
| Item plus karat or weight | ذهب عيار 21, طقم ذهب عيار ٢١, خواتم ذهب عيار 18, سلسلة ذهب 3 جرام عيار 21 | An item page with karat and weight stated |
| Item plus style or wearer | طقم ذهب للعروس, خواتم ذهب ناعمة, اساور ذهب اطفال, هدايا ذهب للمواليد | A style or occasion page |
| Diamond and bridal | خاتم خطوبة الماس, خاتم سوليتير الماس, دبل الماس, طقم الماس للعروس, شبكة عروس ذهب | A bridal section with a short buying guide |
| Lab-grown stones | الماس مختبري, خاتم الماس مخبري, معنى الماس مختبري | A guide and a separately labelled listing |
| Instalments | ذهب بالتقسيط تابي, ذهب بالتقسيط تمارا, محلات ذهب تابي وتمارا | A page that says which payment methods you accept |
| Making charge | مصنعية الذهب في السعودية, مصنعية الذهب عيار 21 في السعودية | A short guide, plus the charge stated on each product |
| Used gold | ذهب مستعمل للبيع في السعودية, ذهب مستعمل بدون مصنعية | A used section, only if you actually sell used pieces |
| Local | محلات ذهب الرياض, محلات ذهب جدة, محلات ذهب توصيل, محلات ذهب اونلاين | A page per real showroom, plus your Google Business Profile |
Four details matter more than they look. Numbers appear in both digit forms («طقم ذهب عيار ٢١» and «ذهب عيار 21»), and lab-grown is spelled two ways («مختبري» and «مخبري»), so write what your customers type. Several suggestions for «متجر مجوهرات» and diamond sets are store or maker names; a shopper who types a name already knows where to buy, so spend your effort on item and occasion searches. Some suggestions name Instagram («محلات ذهب الرياض انستقرام»), so keep website pages that can be found without it. And live price searches («اسعار الذهب اليوم السعودية») are price-tracker searches; we did not test their results and would not build a store plan on them.
The Arabic results for our own topic show what is missing. On 20 October 2026 the Riyadh results for «سيو متاجر المجوهرات» held jewellery-specific agency pages, case studies and translated vendor pages. None of the pages we saw gave a Saudi owner the search patterns above, the rules for gold listings or a seasonal calendar.
What the Ministry of Commerce says a listing must show
Gold is regulated, and the rules reach your product pages. The Ministries of Commerce and of Industry and Mineral Resources announced on 16 October 2025 that amendments to the Precious Metals and Gemstones Law took effect on 11 October 2025, and the announcement described these provisions of the amended regulation:
- advertising any precious metal or gemstone product is prohibited without clearly stating the type, weight, fineness and price of each item;
- jewellery set with gemstones needs an identification tag with the disclosure details;
- stores must designate an area for displaying used jewellery and items containing synthetic diamonds;
- a special invoice is required when a store buys items from individuals.
Earlier, on 21 August 2025, the Ministry put the draft implementing regulations to public consultation. The draft said that selling precious metals and gemstones through an electronic shop is permitted, and repeated the advertising rule (the nature of the work, its weight, type and purity standard). Saudipedia’s summary of the law adds that gemstones must come with a written statement of the stone’s name, type, weight, colour, quality and any defects, and that precious metal products may not be sold or displayed unless hallmarked.
We are search specialists, not lawyers, so treat this as a map and not as advice. For SEO, the legal fields and the fields shoppers search for are the same, so one product template can serve both:
| Show on every product page, as text | Why |
|---|---|
| Metal and fineness, for example gold 21K | Type and fineness are named by the Ministry, and shoppers search «عيار 21» |
| Weight in grams | Weight is named by the Ministry, and shoppers search «سلسلة ذهب 3 جرام» |
| Price, in the page itself | Price is named by the Ministry, and Google may check listing data against the page |
| Stone details: type, weight, colour, quality, certificate if any | Required statement for gemstones and the identification tag |
| New, used or lab-grown label | Separate display for used and synthetic items; shoppers search both |
| Hallmark, with a clear photo of the mark | Hallmarking is required before sale or display, as summarised above |
| Making charge: included or not | Shoppers search «مصنعية الذهب» separately |
Put these in the HTML as readable text, not inside an image or a PDF. Google’s merchant listing documentation (last updated 8 September 2026) has a material property that takes the metal in plain words, such as “Leather” in its example, so “21K yellow gold” belongs there.
Gold prices move, and the page, the markup and the feed must move together
When a price follows the gold market, it changes often. Google’s documentation says it may attempt to verify merchant listing product data before showing it. For frequently changing content, its guide to sharing product data (last updated 10 December 2025) recommends uploading new feed files, weekly, daily or even hourly, and says Google does not guarantee how long it takes to process changes through crawling. The practical rule: change the visible price, the structured data and the feed from one source value at the same moment, and never let the three disagree.
Trust is a search topic too
Our English autocomplete pull for “buy gold jewellery online saudi arabia” returned “is it safe to buy gold jewellery online”. Answer it on the page, starting with your commercial registration details. The Ministry of Commerce said in March 2023 that the Business Platform (business.sa), run by the Saudi Business Center, is the place to verify and register e-stores in place of Maroof, and that a store needs a commercial register or a professional certificate plus a business bank account. If your store is registered, say so, and check the Ministry’s current wording before you add a badge. State your return and exchange policy in words and, where the platform allows, as MerchantReturnPolicy structured data, which Google documents with a standard version on your Organization and an override per product.
Seven page types a jewellery store needs
Most jewellery stores have a category grid and supplier copy. The stores that rank build seven page types:
- Item pages. «طقم ذهب», «خواتم ذهب», «اساور ذهب», «سلسلة ذهب», «خاتم الماس». A short introduction that helps a shopper choose, a buyer FAQ and links down to products.
- Karat and weight as attributes. «ذهب عيار 21» is searched alone and deserves its own page. Other karats and weights are labelled filters unless autocomplete or Keyword Planner shows demand.
- Bridal and engagement pages. «شبكة عروس», «خاتم خطوبة», «دبل الماس», «طقم الماس للعروس». Show what is in each set and how to choose a size.
- Gift pages. «هدايا ذهب للمواليد», «ذهب هدية للزوجة» (six suggestions in our second pull), «هدايا العيد ذهب». These are the pages to refresh before Ramadan, because searches for Eid gifts peak in the last two weeks of the month (see Ramadan shopping statistics).
- A lab-grown and used section with a guide. Label every item, keep natural and lab-grown stones in separate listings, and explain the difference in plain Arabic.
- Buying guides. How to read a hallmark, what the making charge covers, how to measure a ring size, how to care for gold. They earn the early searches and send shoppers to the right item page.
- One page per real showroom. Address, hours, services, payment methods. Skip city pages with only a swapped name. Our Google Business Profile guide is written for dental clinics, but the profile steps are the same for a shop.
The rule that keeps this clean: every filter combination with search demand gets a real page, and every combination without demand stays out of the index. Price ranges, weight sliders and stacked filters usually belong in the second group.
Product pages that sell a piece nobody can touch
A gold set or a diamond ring is a considered purchase, and the buyer cannot hold it. The page has to answer what a counter visit would.
- Variants grouped, not duplicated. Google’s product variant documentation describes ProductGroup with variesBy for size, colour or material, and its ecommerce URL guide (last updated 10 December 2025) says each variant should have its own URL and that, with optional query parameters, the URL without the parameter should be the canonical one. Ring size and gold colour fit this exactly.
- Photographs that do three jobs. The piece on a plain background, on a hand or neck for scale, and in detail. Google’s image guidance (last updated 2 March 2026) calls alt text the most important attribute, asks for short, descriptive filenames, and notes that images are often the largest contributor to page size. «خاتم الماس سوليتير ذهب أبيض على اليد» describes the picture; «IMG_204» does not; twelve uncompressed photographs make a heavy page on a phone.
- What the supplier does not write. Who the piece suits, how it is delivered, whether it is exchangeable, how to size it, and the questions your sales team hears every week.
Google’s navigation documentation (last updated 10 December 2025) says category pages should link to every product you want indexed, and that Googlebot generally does not submit searches into a search box, so a catalogue reachable only through site search stays largely unseen.
Jewellery has its own calendar: the weeks before Eid al-Fitr
White Friday gets most of the attention, but our analysis of the Saudi Central Bank’s (SAMA) weekly point of sale data shows a different peak for in-store card spending on jewellery. We compared the four weeks up to and including the week of the first day of Eid al-Fitr with the eight weeks before that window:
| Year | Eid al-Fitr, first day | Peak week (against the 8 weeks before the window) | Share of the year in those 4 weeks, jewellery (all sectors) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 | Thursday 13 May | 2 to 8 May (2.0 times) | 13.8% (7.9%) |
| 2022 | Monday 2 May | 24 to 30 April (3.6 times) | 13.2% (8.0%) |
| 2023 | Friday 21 April | 16 to 22 April (2.2 times) | 12.8% (8.1%) |
| 2024 | Wednesday 10 April | 31 March to 6 April (2.5 times) | 12.4% (8.0%) |
| 2025 | Sunday 30 March | 23 to 29 March (3.5 times) | not computed |
| 2026 | Friday 20 March | 15 to 21 March (2.1 times) | not computed |
Source: Khaleej SEO analysis of SAMA weekly point of sale data for the “Jewelry” sector and for all sectors, as republished by the KAPSARC Data Portal, weeks running Sunday to Saturday. Eid dates are the first day announced in Saudi Arabia (Gulf News, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025; Oman Observer for 2022, citing the Saudi Supreme Court; Times of Oman for 2026, citing the Saudi Press Agency). The window is Eid week and the three weeks before it; the share uses the calendar year’s weeks, where an even spread would give 7.5% to 7.7%. We leave 2020 out because the archive starts in May 2020, during the closures. The two SAMA series we used differ in level (for the two weeks they overlap, the later series shows jewellery about 8% higher), so each year is computed inside one series; 2025 and 2026 have no share because their year spans both series or is incomplete. It covers card payments in stores, not online payments, and measures value, not pieces sold.
In every year the peak week ended within five days before Eid al-Fitr, or was the week that contained it. The four weeks took 12.4% to 13.8% of a year’s jewellery card spending in 2021 to 2024, against about 8% for all sectors together. Why is not in the data; gifting around Eid is the obvious explanation, but SAMA publishes no reason.
Other seasons are weaker for jewellery:
| Season week (jewellery, change against the 4 weeks before) | Result | Years |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi National Day | up in 5 of 6 years, from 4.1% below to 22.2% above | 2020 to 2025 |
| Founding Day | up in 3 of 5 years, from 12.5% below to 6.8% above | 2022 to 2026 |
| White Friday | up in 2 of 6 years, from 16.1% below to 11.2% above | 2020 to 2025 |
Source: Khaleej SEO analysis of SAMA weekly point of sale data, sector “Jewelry”. Full method, every sector and the CSV are in our Saudi shopping seasons study.
Autocomplete agrees on the quiet seasons: «ذهب عروض اليوم الوطني» returned six suggestions and «ذهب الجمعة البيضاء» none. It is cautious about the big one: most Eid and Ramadan phrases returned songs, names and places, with only a few shopping phrases such as «هدايا العيد ذهب». The Eid signal here comes from card spending, so test it against your own Search Console queries. Our White Friday SEO plan covers the other season for stores that also sell clothing or electronics.
What this means for a store. Eid al-Fitr dates in the table move 10 to 11 days earlier each year, which puts Eid 2027 around 9 to 10 March (our estimate; the moon-sighting committee confirms it) and the four-week window starting in mid-February. Gift, bridal and Eid pages should therefore be live and submitted by the end of January, with the offer and delivery dates updated each year at the same address. Nobody can promise how Google will rank them, but a page that exists in January can be crawled before the peak.
Technical problems we see most on jewellery sites
- Filter explosions. Karat, weight, style and price filters create thousands of URLs that compete with the item page and waste crawling.
- Prices that disagree. The product page, the structured data and the feed show three different gold prices.
- Size and colour variants as separate copies, so one ring appears as eight competing pages without a canonical.
- Sold-out one-off pieces deleted. Keep the page, with a clear message and links to similar items, while it still earns searches.
- Arabic and English pages that are not connected. Each version needs its own URL and reciprocal hreflang links, which our Arabic SEO work sets up.
Each of these is fixed at template level, so one fix can repair thousands of pages. Our technical SEO service covers that phase; if pages are missing from Google entirely, start with our checklist for a store that is not showing on Google.
What results look like
We do not publish a jewellery case study, so here is the closest evidence we can stand behind, and it is about Arabic. For a multi-brand fashion retailer across six Gulf markets, Arabic category wins in Saudi Arabia included «فساتين» moving from position 37 to 4 and «ستائر» from 58 to 6. The lesson carries over: Arabic written for how Saudis search beats Arabic translated from an English sheet. No one can promise a ranking on Google, and we do not.
A 90-day plan for a jewellery store
| Days | What gets done |
|---|---|
| 1 to 30 | Crawl and indexing audit, filter and variant control, a keyword map that gives every item, bridal, gift and lab-grown search one page in Arabic and English, a product template with metal, fineness, weight, price, stone details and the new, used or lab-grown label, and one price source for page, markup and feed |
| 31 to 60 | Rebuilt item and bridal pages, the gift and Eid pages live and submitted, the used and lab-grown section, image weight and mobile speed fixes |
| 61 to 90 | Buying guides for the top items, showroom pages and Business Profile checks, the Eid offer and delivery dates refreshed, and the first review of clicks and orders from organic search |
Start by mid-November and the gift and Eid pages are live by the middle of January, and the 90 days finish by mid-February, when the run-up begins. That is the scope we bring to every store; our e-commerce SEO page shows how we work across Salla, Zid, Shopify and custom builds. If you also sell furniture or home goods, our guide for furniture stores covers that catalogue.
